Crystal Jacqueline bio

Crystal Jacqueline

Her parents became romantically involved during the late 1940s while taking banjo lessons together! No surprise, then, that they would later encourage their children to play instruments and sing.

Crystal's earliest memories are of her first, blind piano teacher, Miss Giles, who used to place her bony hands over Jacqueline's to position them correctly on the keyboard. She would hold singing classes on a Saturday morning too.

Years later, she met up with the man later to become known as Icarus Peel. Since 1992 she has worked with him, first as a vocalist & keyboard player in Daylight's Burning, with whom she went to Dubai for a three month contract in 1995. Three years later, she and Icarus returned to the Middle East as a duo, playing the best and worst cover songs in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Oman. When not in the Middle East, they entertained on the ships.

Now, blessed with all those wonderful memories, she's grooving along happily with her friends and fellow musicians. On an amazing psychedelic journey, not knowing where it might lead to , she feels privileged to reside in this special moment in time, with those talented friends, special record label owners / friends, and with her incredibly gifted and creative partner Icarus.

Her one musical regret ?.....Not retrieving mum and dad's banjos from the loft and getting some lessons . Imagine being able to play like those Bluegrass pickers!
