Jay Robertson bio

Jay Robertson

It was bestowed upon a very young Jay the self appointed duty of being the only person in the Robertson lineage of becoming a musician. A responsibility he accepted with gusto. As with most drummers Jay desperately wanted to be a vocalist, a vocation sadly denied to him due to the fact that he is mute, at least that’s what most people wish was the case if ever they should be so unfortunate as to hear him “sing”. So, of course, Jay went for what he believed was the “easy option” and took up drumming. Luckily for him he seemed to have an affinity and natural flair for the instrument. Being somewhat of a belligerent old stick Jay decided that trying to sound like other drummers was a stupid idea and set about developing his own sound. After many years playing in pub bands and sick of being told to, “just play it like the record”, Jay was about to call it a day when he bumped into a certain Icarus Peel at a swingers party. Being easily confused and somewhat innocent, they both went home with each others musical instruments (God knows what became of their wives?) but Jay soon remembered he couldn’t play guitar, and anyway the strings really hurt the tips of his fingers, and every time Icarus’ limbs tried to coordinate independently of each other he would black out. Reunited with their own musical apparatus the two set about “ripping the universe a new one” within the behemoth that was: Stemroach! But the singer fell in love and moved to Denmark to be with the woman of his dreams…the selfish git! Alas, Stemroach was no more. Luckily Jay and Icarus kept in touch and in 2018 Jay was appointed official stickman with The Honey Pot and then a year later he was handed the drummers throne with Icarus Peel’s Acid Reign. The rest, as they say, is…

In addition, Jay is also a professional actor and has appeared in many Films, TV Shows, Stage Plays and Music Videos.
